Just a few months after the installation of the new thermoplastic welding machine, CDR Pompe is investing again in the technological upgrading of its machinery with a view to expanding the area dedicated to the testing of centrifugal pumps.
Two new electrical instruments have been introduced:
A third test bench, which will be added to the two smaller ones already in use at CDR Pumps. A new electrical panel with an inverter. The new instrumentation will allow us to test centrifugal pumps up to a maximum power of 90 kW. Each pump assembled at our workshop is subjected to a test at the working point; therefore, CDR Pumps has decided to invest in a new electrical test bench (torque meter) that connects the pump to the electric motor and measures the pump’s power consumption at the motor shaft, ensuring increased reliability and product quality.
Torque Meter: How Does It Work? The functionality of the new torque meters is to measure the power at the pump shaft with the aim of obtaining a more accurate measurement compared to calculations based on individual motor efficiencies.
This will allow us to have more precise commercial curves and, at the same time, to improve the development of new prototypes and products through faster and more reliable measurements of pump performance and power consumption.
CDR Pumps operates with a focus on optimizing production, achieving increasingly higher quality levels, and investments in our production area represent the starting point for this goal.
