In certain working environments, the propagation of flammable substances or solvents in the air can, under certain conditions, form an explosive mixture that can lead to explosion and fire if ignited. For such a hazardous situation to arise, we must be in the presence of the so-called ‘combustion triangle’: fuel (dust or gas) + fuel agent (very often oxygen) + ignition source (an energy source capable of triggering an explosion).
